On the run

Hi there, its been years since I gotten around to post or write anything at all....but I made a promise to start this all over again and here we go. Its been a bit of a detour since last. We moved to Switzerland and bought a house that I of course started to renovate....but than again there was only so much I could do....so no mosaics that have been done except for one little bit that I will bring up later as it is now with me in Perth. Gosh so much has happened since we arrived here. The house we bought is a full renovation project. the shell is good and well everything else is down to our imagination or shall i say mine. What I have noticed and was so shocked about is the fact that only now they are banning plastic bags. Gosh this is not good. I dont have a composting bin because they dont do that here either. Hello again, It's only me! I know you still waiting for the finishing of my Bathroom, but I am afraid that will have to wait a little longer, as my daughter is one day away to be born.....well ok it's her due date tomorrow and she surly doesn't want to come along when told. Girls are always taking their time. So I have focused on easy things. I haven't had a bedsite cabinet and thought hey I can do one. Said and done the same week. Started to build the corpus of it and decided I dont want any doors on it. Well hello, Good lord has it been that long since I have written? I do feel guilty!!! It's not like I haven't done anything.....nonono...I done lots but it was more like designing a new bathroom all in mosaic and also a couple of presents for my best friend. So I was actually a busy bee. Anyway i better make a start. We moved in our house a year ago and our on-suite well lets say it like that was what I come to call "the shower of horror". Trust me you really dont want any details on the smell or cleaniness!!!! YOU DON'T!!! I started to think about what i could do with it as I knew this bathroom needs to be redone. Hello again, well I am back with my newest creation. You know when you got a cup of tea or two or more at the same time....well not all for yourself. But you know when you just dont want to drip and drop the teabags over the kitchen floor and make a whole mess. We had a little bowl for this purpose for it feels like ages .....after beeing used so much that it sort of started to look a bit well OLD my husband bless him said lets chuck it out. It's looks bad and wont make it much longer. You should have heard my outcry. What noooooooooooooo we don't......and there it came again my most favourite sentence....I can do something with it. I guess he really thought I got a screw loose :-) Lets face it who wouldn't. Anyway here is the little bowl as it was. If you look at it closely it really wasn't looking very healthy. Hello, time is flying by when trying to keep up with everything, but I didn't want to show you again just have done items.....well OK at least you cant see it on the picture. This is one of 6 dinner mats. I had lots of different tiles left and thought its nice having some for our table. It's just not good having some made out of carton if you dribble a lot or make a mess. Not that I dribble .....don't get any ideas! Anyway let's just swiftly move on :-) Yes well I made this over a weekend and hubby wanted to have clean lines so I will have to gloss the side and bottom in a nice beige rather then tiling them as I did the one before. It is funny how both of us went for different favourites. I love the once big and chunky and not so precise. Hubby is more for the smaller and more defined one.  I like the fact it's for all of us one in there and that's how I usually work. Non of my items are the same. Well here I am back again with to little time on my hand as usual. Gosh I do wonder every time again how long it takes to make a mosaic. I have to tell you ....MY HANDS ARE KILLING ME!!! I was clipping tiles for over 4 hours. We are not just talking about the usual standard mosaic tiles ....no no we are talking about normal tiles for kitchens and bathrooms. Why, oh why am I always so much into the environment.....you know the kind of save the world type and having to reuse everything. Serves me right..... So yes I have started with two projects the same time....really shouldn't do that but just can't help myself so done it anyway. OK the save the world project are our new place mats for our dining table as our old ones are sold with the last house. New house, new place mats.
